AquaVista 500

I have an AquaVista 500 aquarium, for about 7 weeks now. It's a 6.6 gallon, wall mount aquarium. I'm having trouble getting the nitrogen cycle to complete. It's a really great looking aquarium but I'm willing to get rid of it if it's just going to be a pain in the neck. More info can be found here http://www.aquavistainc.com/products.html

I'm wondering if anyone else has experience or heard of any reviews about the practicality of this tank. All the reviews I've read talk about it's esthetic and space saving features. I totally agree with them on that respect. However, no one talks about keeping fish alive, etc. Perhaps I just need to be more patient and wait longer for the nitrogen cycle to finish.

what are you using to test your water and are you keeping the ammonia comming? i would reccomend putting a cocktail shrimp in it and letting it rot and desolve. When it does this it produces ammonia which will help the bacteria start to catch up. is there a built in filter?

I have the API master kit and 2 platys in the aquarium which I feed 1-2 times a day. The owner's manual says it has a proprietary wet-dry filter. The water pump is under the gravel and there's a filter tray with bio balls at the top. The water circulates by getting pumped up to the drop, drip over the filter tray and back into the tank.
