Mts
Ok, ok. MTS is alive and well in our house. I did a post on this not too long ago, and since then, its gotten worse. The latest addition is another 20g. So that makes 9 tanks now! Wow, it gets crazier by the minute. I think we will need a MTS forum section soon. I think that this affliction is speading too. Two people we know have gotten tanks since they have visited us. One thing I know for sure, is that we have MTS, and spreading it. LOL

Yes MTS is very contagious There is no cure but a new tank and occupants can cause temporary remission. Seeing cute new fish can cause a re-lapse though

Ya know whats funnier... every time we get a new tank, we say.. "ok this will be the hospital tank" and then the next thing you know it turns out to be a species specific tank. AHHHH

I had one tank, I wanted two. Now I have two, I want to set up my small unused tank.
Once that's done, I'll want a betta tank. Or a nano reef. Or another 3-foot one for plants and small fish. Or a six-foot for big fish. Or a fish shop. Or two. I'll end up owning part of the ocean or something :P

We are on our second case of MTS here...before Christmas last year, we sold a lot of little tanks...we were down to two tanks by March the 120g Piranha then, and the 80g angelfish.
Over the past 2 months we've gotten back up to 7 running and 2 empty. Thank god we have had lots of water ready for new tanks in big containers and buckets.
I am waiting on getting a 60g tank for my angels...hoping to find a cheap one by winter.

It depends on the size of tank you are looking for. Larger tanks can be hard to get plus shipping can be hefty. I have found some on eBay but never ordered. I got all mine at Walmart or a pet store. These days I try not to support the Walmart fish department so I would recommend a pet store. As far as reliable websites Drs Foster and Smith is one of the best. They have a pretty decent selection and range of sizes.

As I said though shipping charges can be a real pain for a tank.

Also check out www.craiglist.com for your city or freecycle. You would be surprised what you can find for free.

I was just given two 10G and a 5G. I still have to clean them and set them up. I guess they'll end up being fuge, sump and Q. Does that count?

Aaron - Over here, there's 3 magazines made just for classified ads in the local area. They also put some in newspapers, and on their websites. (There's a website which is dedicated JUST to ads for fish stuff. If you're willing to travel a little further, you might want to find something like that.) It would be worth checking them out. I've bought loads of stuff from there
And there's no believing you have nothing like that over there.
