sand blown around?

my sand wont stay how it is. first it was moved from left to right, so I moved our airstone to the back(on suction cups a couple inches up from sand) and now its moving to the back. it this from my airstone being to big or too close to the bottom, or is it the flow from my filter? It's a pain to have to move all my decorations out so I can move the sand back just to do it all again in a week or two

Let the tank run with the main filter on and not the air stone, the sand should settle down in a few days

no the sand is settled, but it goes from being pretty flat all around to being piled up in the back

Sorry about my mis-understanding.

It could easily be the current from your filter is moving it around. I use pool filter sand and really havent had a problem with a major shifting of the sand. Maybe if you baffle your filter output, it would disrupt the current enough to stop the movement. Check the DIY section for directions on how to build a baffle.
