So I've decided I should change my gravel to pea pebbles because I really do adore corydoras =] anyhoo, I've been reading hardware store gravel seems to suffice for the same thing but apparently can be much much cheaper. I was thinking about getting this for my 29 gallon tank? any opinions? yay or nay

sorry if i broke the rules somehow with the home depot mentioning and such

Seems like it would work to me if you rinse it real well. Which you have to do with all gravel.

Hello Mibro. I think you'll be fine with the pea gravel. I've seen mention that several of our members use it. I think it would look very nice in your tank!

I've got dwarf cories with pea gravel. I love the natural look.
I got mine from walmart. 3 bucks for a 50lb bag!
You're right, it does need a lot of rinsing!

Well other than corys like sand better than gravel or pebbles that kind of pebbles is so dirty. you need to make sure you clean it really well.

Maybe I need my head examined but it seemed the pea PEBBLES I bought were more rounded than just plain Pea GRAVEL My Corys don't seem to mind the pea pebbles at all

Oh, Thanks for linking that. I like the pea pebbles more than pea gravel. Wish I had seen that first.

They almost look like they've been run through a polisher and there are more than the shades of brown in there even a little grayish blue
Mine is more shades of gray/blue and the Dojos even like/dig in it.
