Crushed Coral Suitable for...?

Hi, In my classroom I currently have a 29gl tank that i'd like to be for brackish fish...Namely...

a) 2 fig 8 puffs
or
b) 1 GSP
or
c) small school of juvenile Monos and fiddler crabs (with section for land) for a while
or
d) school of Mollies and fiddler crabs (with section for land)
or
e) freshwater the tank for Tiger Barbs

I have tons of white crushed coral available to me and have used it as the substrate for the tank (with no real problems), however, I've been reading that none of the fish I want to house are appropriate for CC. I'd like to not change substrate so....

1) what are the best fish for CC substrate?
2) most of my stockings prefer sandy bottoms but could I go with my stockings mentioned above anyway?
3) should i mix it with sand?

Thanks and see photo..

Crushed Coral can be suitable for Mollys the can live in a pH up to 8 and they would be better in FW or VERY slightly brackish

I've been looking all around for "fish appropriate for crushed coral". I realize it is a little backwards but what fish do well with crushed coral as a substrate? Mollies are one...I assume the ph would be too high for tiger barbs if i go freshwater...but what else?

Yah, I like them too. I'd like to house some filddler crabs in there as well...do you think a stocking of...
a) 10 sailfin mollies and 2 fiddler crabs
b) 5 malawi cichlids and 2 fiddler crabs

It's a 29 gallon as you see in the picture above...

p.s. how bout gobies?

Hopefully one of the African and Crab folks will read as I have no experience with either, I just know Africans are fine with crushed corals as a friend used it for a new African setup.

OIne thing I do remember though is Fiddler Crabs are Semi-Aquatic and wont share with the Africans as they need brackish water or full SW and the Malawis are pure FW fish.

If you were to put them with the mollies they would need a climb out area in the tank

Yes fiddler crabs need some land...I'd put a turtle dock up high and seal any openings...
