One of my colleagues at school has a 20 gallon tank that's been set up for years. There are only tiny snails in there and I've been using for a hospital tank for some neon tetras. I've put one of my red Malawi Cichlids in there so save him from the bullying in my other tank however the
pH is not very high. The sustrate seems like the bottom of a pond, not really sand, not really soil or gravel. I can't explain it really as it is not in front of me right now but it looks very natural, a pot pourri of substrate if you will. It looks really great actually. Anyway since it's not my tank I shall take care. I want to raise the ph by putting some crushed coral in a nylon sack. But will it affect the plants in the tank at all? she really loves those plants and I don't want to ruin them with. Not sure what kind but really nice growth of 2 kinds of plants.
