Having a hard Time With Gravel

For one I have a hex tank so it abstracts your vision. That makes it very hard to level out the the gravel after i clean the decor and change the water. How do i determine its level. I know its a dumb question and all but its very important to me. Second, how do Iget my corys to move when im vaccuming? I always have to kinda shoo them away with my hand (really i just get kinda close or gently touch their sides (is that bad)

If its high enough you be able to see in the sides of the tank and look right at it to see if it's level or not. My corys don't move either, I push them around with the vac becuase they won't move. I would say that is typical cory behavior, along with all their other antics.

If you are asking how to make it level or flat, it only matters for looks so make it look flat and then your done. If it never looks flat then you need to get a different tank that is not Hex. Unless the gravel is pretty big, it will get stirred up a bit by the fish anyways.

Shooing the corys is fine. My angle actually comes and brushes against my hand when I clean his tank.

As a side note, you should NOT clean the decor. It kills the good bacteria in your tank that eats the ammonia.
