Help in recognising the plant and advice on gravel

Hi guys,

I have just set up a new tank on my office desk. Wanted some expert advice on few things:
1. Wanted to know whether the gravel which i have selected is ok for plants.
After setting up i feel that gravels are bit bigger in size, doest that cause
any problem?
2. need to know the name of the small plant and suitable light conditions for
it (other is java fern). As of now i dont have any special light for this
aquarium whatever light it gets is from the normal office ambient light. do i
need to put more lights?
3. On Java fern the way i have covered its roots by gravel is that ok?
actually the plant has already been tied to a drift wood which i have
covered with gravel.
Waiting for your comments ppl.

THe unknown plants look like some type of Dwarf Bacopa, which is fairly easy to grow, but it does need medium light, so probably won't get enough as it is.

You must not bury the root stock of the Java Fern. It will rot and the plant will die.

If it's already attached to driftwood, I'm curious as to why you buried it?

Just read it somewhere that java fern grows well if the roots are burried.
