Going to add plastic plants and extra gravel

Hi forum,

I've bought some nice colourful plants from one of the wholesale stores in my city. I'm going to add it in a couple of days. I wasn't able to do it straightaway, as I had to sleep all day long (am working in nights)

I also got 2 kgs of white gravel, as I believe white would make my tank look bright with all these colourful plants over it.

Could i add the gravel rightaway (Obviously after rinsing it as many no of times)

or

Should I add it gradually. Will it affect the beneficial bacterias?

Re: Going to add plastic plants and extra gravel

One of the things that the bacteria grows on and does well is the gravel. It will be beneficial to have the gravel in your tank and I would add it now to give the bacteria more area to grow on, you can also add the plants as the bacteria will grow on them as well, but not as much.

As Rose has said, you can add the plastic plants and gravel as soon as you want. They will not disturb your tank's ecology.
