Simple Sand question

How deep do you want the sand to go in your tank? is an inch ok or should I go more?

an inch is fine but you could make it higher in some places and lower in others

1/4 inch to 1 inch is preferable. Much deeper than 1inch you will run into gas pocket problems.

I have planted tanks which have sand between 1 and 2 inches deep, to keep from getting aerobic pockets in the tank I have MTS.
