dirty gravel?

Ok my tank has been up for 4 or 5 days just water, gravel and filter going.

I have black gravel I got from petco and it seems the water is still kinda dirty. I rinsed the gravel before adding to the tank. So I removed it all and re-rinsed with a strainer and the water still looks a little cloudy/dirty.

I thought maybe it would just take a day or two to settle so not sure what to expect here?

Re: dirty gravel?

You can get some Seachem Clarity that will help. If you have an HOB filter, you can add some extra fiber floss to it and that will help as well.

Re: dirty gravel?

Do you have activated carbon in your filter? That could help you clear up the water pretty fast.
