white or black what do you think?

I'm going to get sand for my next tank (29 gal) and haven't decided on the color yet. I want the tank to be all natural (I have real plants, real drift wood and real {huge} shells already).
What do you think looks more natural white sand or black sand?
I like the look and how it makes the fish and plants stand out more on the black sand but you don't see black sand much in nature would it still look natural?

I guess it would be a personal choice.... I like the sand my cousin had in his setup, it was mainly black but had a little white sand mixed with it which gave it a really nice balance... not too white and not too black

I have a 2x 125g tanks one has black sand with Mbuna (husbands tank) mine is white filter sand with clown loaches.

I have to clean my sand every couple of days as it shows the fish poo (only do water changes once a week) so much more than the black stuff, my husband cleans his sand once a week with normal water changes.

Its down to personal preference, but white sand is cheaper but shows the poo so much easier.

Hope this helps

I would use white silica sand...it looks the most natural next to messy sand.

I like the look of black sand but it depends on your fish. If you have black fish maybe don't go with black sand. If you want the colours on your fish to "pop" darker substrates work best.
