Need quick reply

Hi everyone needed a quick reply about the safety and if it's useful or not.
Someone i know has A LOT of eco-complete that they used in a 55g tank, but they are now getting out of the aquarium hobby and are getting rid of a lot of stuff, one is EC. What i wanna know is if it's ok for me to take his used EC and add it to my tank? Also would it still be useful for my plants being used already?

Did he have any fish disease in his tank? Snails? It should be ok for plants even after being used.

No disease and i think he might have had snails or a snail but i'm not 100% sure on that.

If he had snails the eggs might travel over with the EC. I would rinse it though (I know you don't usually rinse EC)

Your welcome I can't see why you shouldn't use it either.

Should be good. Depending on how long it was in use, you may have to add mineral supplements (the producers of the stuff say that you will have to start supplementing around a year after it has been put in) but it still is excellent for plants (much better on the roots than gravel, for most plants).

Thanks a lot for the replys guys and gals it helped me make a good choice in getting the EC and i'm going to look into some mineral supplements as soon as i can and keep them on hand, he said he's only been using it for about 6months so i think i'm still good but never can be to prepared.
