So I finally got my 55 last night and put it together this morning! I origanally bought 100 lbs. of sand for it because I've been told two different things: One pound per gallon and two pounds per gallon. Which is it? I put the first 50 pounds in and it looked like enough, so I proceeded to fill it up with water and cycle. Now that it has settled enough to see for the most part, (12 hrs. later) it looks like it may be able to use more. Should I add the other bag?

You want about 2" of sand in the tank as a general rule of thumb. Alter to suit your tastes/needs. I'm thinking about going with sand but I want to have one area that is rock/gravel to offer a change in scenery/territory.
