bio load of the larger snails or shrimps?

I like the idea of having an invertebrate in my tank just for variety sake, but I dont want to significantly influence the bioload. I think my fish would eat the smaller ghost shrimp or cherry shrimp. What about the bamboo shrimp? What about the larger snails?

Mystery snail or olive nerite snails are ok. Which tank are you putting them in? I also think you will do fine with a grass shrimp not ghost but grass. They get about 2 to 2.5 inches.

Yeah, the killi will happily gobble up any shrimp - fun to watch

I don't think you have anything to worry about as far as snails are concerned.

Hi jprime, mystery or nerite snails would do fine just as eiginh suggested Apple snails could work as well. Best of luck!

Well the bamboo shrimp I saw in a store were about as big as the killie is right now. But the question still stands for both the snails and shrimps: are they dirty patrons?

No their bioload isn't as much as fishys but mystery snails do give out more bioload than most other snails. though they are basically a clean up crew so what can you expect lol.

My 4" gw killi eats full grown guppies.

Snails and shrimp will take care of more waste then they produce.

I saw mine yawn one time, he looks like he could fit something as big around as himself in his mouth. I keep him well fed though and he hangs out near the top almost all the time.
