i am thinking about adding some shrimp to my 29 gallon. i was wondering if there is a species of shrimp that likes to eat algae? if so, would they survive in a community environment?

well you can go with the"amano" shrimp or the red cherry shrimp. It depends on the size of the fish you have in the tank (cause red cherry are quite small 0.5 to 1 inch) amano get bigger but not sure how big

thanks for the reply drgueedo. i have been doing some research on different sites and i have seen the amano and cherry shrimp. i am just wanting a larger species bc i am planning on putting a pearl gaurami in the tank. i don't know if the pearl would eat the smaller shrimp. i was just wondering if there are any larger species that i may be over looking or just don't know about. i am wanting to use shrimp for algae cleaning purposes in my 29 gallon just to mix it up a little. i figured this would be the place to put a thread to ask of the collective fishlore expertice!
