Now that's a Mystery!

I get up this morning. First thing I do is feed the fish. I open the door above the tank to find one of my mystery snails sitting on top of the glass totally out of the water. I don't know how long it had been out. I put it back in and was floating for a couple of minutes, I guess to take in water before it sank.

As I am writing this, I still cannot find my second snail, but have discovered a second batch of eggs on the 'u' tube of the inlet pipe of my filter which is 6 inches above the water line!
I don't think this batch will survive - it's too dry, but cannot find my snail. Could be in the cupboard where I keep all the food, filters etc, anywhere.

How long can these critters live out of water? It may have lost its way back into the tank.

Just found the second tucked under a rock!

She must have climbed up the pipe, and couldn't find her way back. I found her about 12 inches away from the other entry for the spraybar almost 6ft away from the eggs. The glass was warm, but dry. I took pics of the egg location and will post when I return from work. I've removed them - no way they'd survive there with no moisture and the heat from the lights. Already dry and almost chalky and firm. I can see the first lot are moist and still quite pink.
Didn't think to take a pic of the snail above the glass. Just put her straight back in

Not only do I have to count fish, but snails as well? lol Nobody did say this fishkeeping was easy!
There are now two angels keeping each other company in the same corner. No physical signs, just not moving. They wouldn't come up to eat.

Am I misdiagnosing? Thought they might be too small. The first one was on its own for a good 24 hours.

If you lived close, you'd be welcome to them LoL. Just checked, and discovered another batch, on that tube again! This time I found mum safe, after quickly looking around the outside of the tank. She is popping them out every few days.
We see the warning signs now.
It seems she is delivering eggs within 24 hours of her & dad spotted together.
I've noticed a few babies in the tank now. I'm hoping they'll become fish food, but I get the feeling they are being left alone.
There I was at the LFS saying "I want a mummy and daddy..."

Hello Life! Glad to hear that you have baby snails now. Around here we pass out cigars for new births. I don't smoke them but they look neat in my shirt pocket

The only type I smoke are Cuban. Darn it, they won't get thru customs, will they?
