Breeding Triops

Has anyone ever bred them?

I just took one home from my lab... it hatched in a batch of experimental daphnia eggs and ate them all... (lol byebye experiment). He's kind of a cool little bugger, but I read they only live 3 months. I'm wondering how easy they are to breed to have a never ending supply of triops.

I've kept these little guys they are interesting but I think they would need salt water and you to lower the water level and put some substrate like java moss. My triops never had any eggs that I could see.

Ok I did a little research and this is what I came up with:
Ok you raise the triops in a gallon goldfish bowl with an inch of sand in the bottom and when the triops get to be around an inch big the females will develop egg sacks where the shell ends and the tail sticks out. The females will then dig into the sand then lay their eggs. You can then remove the sediment and let that dry out. After the sediment dries you can stick it in some declorinated water and then the eggs will hatch. Don't forget they are caninalistic

Thanks gouramiguy! That's really helpful. I looked around but I'm terrible at using search engines and couldn't find what I needed.

That sounds like a rather painful process to do while rooming in a dorm though :/ Maybe I'll just have him until he kicks the bucket and give up on the triops dream lol
