Golden Clams are small cute fellows.
I don't keep those, but I do keep three
FW Clams (larger than those).
My suggestion is that you consider the following:
a) keep freshwater clams in a mature tank only (say a tank that is at least 5 or 6 months old). (like your 3 years 65 planted!)
b) make sure you have excellent biological filtration (so if a clam dies your tank won't be fouled). If you don't, consider adding a sponge filter, it will seed quickly (your tank is planted so it's quite easy to hide it).
c) provide at least 2 to 2.5 inches of sand substrate depth (some keep them in gravel, I wouldn't do that)
d) keep at least 3dKH and 5.5dGH
e) avoid placing the clam(s) at or near a "dead zone" of the tank, they are filter feeders and need at least a mild current carrying phyto and zoo plancton around.
f) be careful when doing maintenance like substrate vacuum so you don't hurt them (their shell is way less harder than marine clams)
and... g) upload pics for us or your Golden clams will "bite" your fingers as reminder!
