Plan on having Clown Loaches, are any shrimp compatible?

Just what the title says. I've got my eye on a pair of 3" Clown Loaches at the LFS. As soon as the tank is ready, I'm picking them up. I would also like to get some shrimp, but not sure if there is a certain type that the loaches wont bother. I've done a lot of searching on google and it seems that if the shrimp are as big or bigger then the loaches and the loaches are well fed, they will likely stay away from the shrimp. Can anyone comment on this, and is there a certain type of shrimp that would get big enough to not become a meal? Thanks!

What size tank do you have? as clown loaches need a 100g tank minimum as they get big, also they like being in groups so you might want to get more than a pair.

As for the shrimp i dont know of any that are compatible as that it one of the foods that is recommended for them, i think they would kill all types of shrimp. Having said that i know of someone who does keep shrimp and clown loaches together. You might want to buy a few cheap shrimp like ghost shrimp and try them?

here is a link to a good website for more information on the clown loaches

Annadvn, thats real interesting about the loaches. I have never read that they get that big, but I guess I should keep that in mind. It gives me good reason to start a larger tank, down the road.

I also came across some info about dwarf crayfish. Seems they are very docile and wont bother fish, even bottom feeders...but will the loaches go after them? I would imagine that the crays have a hard shell and small pinchers, so maybe they wont be viewed as food by the loaches? Anyone have experience with these?
