small yellow centipede

can anyone give me some info. i am new 20 gal, live breeders. after one month, noticed a 1/4 inch bright yellow slug/centipede like animal at bottom of tank, today noticed another. they are eating the fry food in the net floatation separation tank. any ideas?

small yellow centipede

does anyone know what this 1/4 inch bright yellow centipede like worm could be. it appeared mysteriously a few days ago, now i have two. They dont move much. started at the bottom in the gravel, now they are gravitating to the fry net box and eating from the outside. the other fish are leaving them be. do you know if they are harmful?

lisi1014@yahoo.com I merged your topics into one thread , hope you don't mind. this way all your information will be in one place instead of scattered all over the different forums. when asking the same question posting everything in one place tends to get more responses.
Oh and welcome to FishLore!

Maybe planaria? Its a type of flat worm. Look it up on google.

it doesnt look like planaria which are flat. this is more segmented, round with tiny hairy legs. the whole thing is as big as a grain of white rice (except its yellow)

i dont have a picture, will try and get one. i have another question. my filter was slowing down decided (not knowing better) to rinse the fliter cartridge in tap water. then decided to replace the charcoal only and rinsed it good before replacing it. the filter is now running well, i am just nervous that i washed out too much of my good bacteria. do you think there will be enough from what in the gravel and plants?

if your tank was fully cycled, then you should be ok... if not, you may mini-cycle... just watch your water parameters...

Open up the post reply window. Down under where you type, under Additional Options click o Manage attachments. A window will open that has browse buttons, click to open access to your computer....that is if you have the digital image in your pc. then if it is under I THINK 488kb you can down load it.

If not, go to the HOW DO I section and find the post MIKE the mod did on a link to on-line resizing tool. THEN you will be able to attach it.

Hope this helps...
