Hey, this is pretty cool. I was getting ready for work this morning, and the first tank light had just switched. So I was checking the tank for any problems, and I got to watching this really big trumpet snail that I moved from my other tank before I tore it apart (more on that later...hehehe)
So anyway, it's like 6:00 AM an I'm sitting all bleary eyed drinking coffee and watching the snail when I saw something really tiny swimming in the Java moss along the bottom of the tank. It took a minute to find again, and it turned out to be a baby shrimp, maybe 1/4 of an inch long. The problem is I'm not sure what species it is. I currently have 4 species: Ghost, Amano, Cherry, & Flower. Now supposedly Amano and Flower shrimp don't breed in captivity, so I'm down to 2. But both Cherry and Ghost shrimp breed easily, so it could be either.
Anyway, it was very cool to see, and hopefully I have enough Java strewn around for them to hide in and grow. There in my Swamp Tank, so I don't think it'll be a problem:
