Favorite Type of Shrimp?

I want to add some shrimp to my tanks. I have seen a lot of different kinds, but I don't know much about any of them. I have seen mostly ghost shrimp, flower shrimp, and bamboo shrimp. I have also seen pics of cherry shrimp. Please take a minute and just let me know which type of shrimp you have enjoyed keeping and a few details about it such as size, etc. I really appreciate everyone's help and imput. Thanks!

I really like Amano Shrimp and Red Cherry Shrimp. They are similar in size (4-5 cm) and behavior. Both are primarily algae eaters and what is nice is that they eat different types of algae so they go well together.

All versions of the Amano shrimp (including the Red Cherry/Crystal Red).
I have a special place in my heart that is saved particularly for the Ninja Shrimp, which is the chameleon of Amano shrimp.

Just curious, what do you mean by versions of Amano shrimp? I know they are in the same family, Atyidae, but different genus.

For the Ninja Shrimp (Caridina Serratirostris)...do you know anywhere to get them in the US? The last time I tried to find them I found an article stating that they weren't being imported in the US

They are becoming available in the US. I've found two places that sell something called Ninja shrimp, though I'm concerned that they're trying to pass off a different breed. Other than that, shipping is more than I can afford right now. If they allowed people to pick orders up, I would have had my wife pick some up when she was in Arizona, but they only ship, they don't allow people to visit.
The true Amanos are, or at least seem to be, the basis for the Caridinia and NeoCaridinia (spelling unsure) species. The NeoC, in particular, seem to have been specially bred for aquariums, and encompass a wide range of colors that would be highly undesirable in the wild, as they would attract predators.
