within the last few weeks i got 2 new fish, a tiger oscar named....oscar!! My other fish is an olipine( or something close) gourami. here r some pics of them ,and my gourami "Spud" didn't want his pic taken so they ight be blurry
What is the first a pic of? The oscar looks small, how big is it? You do have a big enough tank for it?
Tom
well tom we have talked a lot apparantly because i remember u, anyway i discovered if a fish that gets big is in a small tank they won't grow big so my the fish in the 1st pic my oscar will live in my 10 gal for now but soon i'll get a 20 gal
shrimpy, cool pictures, but be warned, eventually you'll need a much bigger tank for the oscar... they get over a foot long and a 20 gallon won't be nearly big enough.
FYL, I saw 2 at the LFS today and these suckers had to be nearly 16 inches each. Probably the biggest oscars I've ever seen. The owner of the LFS said he was probably going to find a pond nearby to set them free in.

That statement is ture to an extent, the fish exterior will stop growing, but the interior will keep growing and eventually kill the fish after lots of pain and suffering. And just to have a little fun and to spook you a little, I am everywhere, Mwahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've read this is a myth. Whether that is true or not I don't know. Someday I'd like to actually see, for myself and figure it out. I don't know if this is true or not but it does not defeat the fact they should not be in small tanks.
on top of the fact that the insides will get compacted and the life expectancy reduced, a squished fish without room to swim is going to be stressed and at even greater risk of diseases.. that's why a 18" pleco needs a 55g tank.
