Ok, so I may be a little bit excited about my new digital camera, but I FINALLY got JJ to come out and cooperate for some good pictures, and Hulk and Booger actually played along for some group pictures as well. I also included some better pictures of my Barbs and Serpae tetras schooling together...
you've really got some great looking fish there. a very colorful assortment and they all look healthy and happy. looks like you got the hang of that camera too.
I am crazy about those puffers! I actually just saw some in person for the first time while out shopping today. Makes me wish I could have a second tank!
I would DEFINATELY recommend getting at least one. The two kinds I would choose are either dwarf puffers, or Green spotted puffers. both can live in freshwater, although it is recommended that you switch to brackish water later in the Green spotted puffer's life. They are some of the most animated fish I have come across, each one with their own distinct personalities. and as weird and morbid as it may seem, buying them ghost shrimp as a treat and watching them hunt the little buggers is incredible. My little one, Booger, is even starting to get to the point where he will come up and eat out of my hand. If you can get your hands on a ten gallon tank, then I would recommend getting one or two of these little guys (if getting two, get two that have been kept together at the store). Just make sure to provide plenty of plants, rocks, and best of all, background material for the back and sides of the tank to keep the puffers from swimming up and down the glass all day.
It's the green spotted that I want to get. No place for a 10g now and i'll need a couple tanks for offspring from a breeding pair of betta sp. mahachai when i can get them. They like brackish tanks, so i'll be getting experience with setting those conditions up.

ur a great photogragrapher nice fish too they were very cooperative unlike mine
yeah, they are EXTREMELY aggressive. When i first bought Hulk (the bigger one, Booger died) i figured that if i kept him well fed he would be fine with other fish, since he had been kept with others at wal-mart. well, i fed him before adding him to my tank, and sure enough, as soon as he hit the water, he was chasing everything he could see around. not even a minute later, he had torn apart three of my ghost shrimp, and by the time i could get my ten gallon tank up and running, he had finished off the other three shrimp and was chasing my rainbow shark around.
ive owned three dwarf puffers before (unfortunately they all caught fish TB), and as far as their aggressiveness it seemed to vary by fish. one of the ones i had was quite territorial, and he chased anything around that he could, but he never attacked anything. the other two were pretty docile, just keeping to themselves. the most aggressive thing either one of them ever did was nip at the fins of my pleco just to see what it was, and once it moved, they left it alone. but i definately plan on owning more dwarf puffers eventually.

hmm.. interesting.. i guess they aren't all so aggressive.. that's good to hear, i'd love to have more than 1 when we get a puffer tank going.
