Working on it!

Here is my 10 gallon so far. That mess of stems at the top is my hornwort that shed all it's needles-there are 2 small bunches that survived that I have anchored in the gravel. driftwood is mopani-much more beautiful in person.

Eventually I'll be buying better rocks for a better cave and more plants and driftwood. Also need a background, might just buy some black poster board.

Also fighting some brown algae in there, boo.

Pretty tank Is the betta hiding ? That wood would be gorgeous with some Java Fern attached to it.
the brown algae is probably diatoms and will go away on it's own. This is a common thing that happens in fairly new tanks.

My betta was swimming around. I tried to get him in the picture but he's a quick one.

I do want to get some java fern but whenever I see it in the stores it's pretty brown and sad looking.

Very cool. I think I can see the betta in the very edge of the first photo (top right corner). He appears to be a lovely blue. Does he try to camoflage himself against the substrate?

Yes, that's him in the corner!

I've never really noticed him spend much time around the bottom, sometimes he'll check things out and swim through plants, but I don't think he's tried to camouflage.
