| | Fish Master | Baby Whale I FINALLY got a picture of him! Here is the baby whale Lorabell sent me last week. He finally came out today after a water change. I usually have to sneak peeks at him before I turn the lights on at 5:30 every morning. Thank you, Lori! We love him!
May I present...Moby Dick. |

| | Fish Master | A baby whale, seriously. That's what they're called. It's hard to find information on them online, so it'll take me some time to find the proper name.
That's why we named him Moby Dick |

| | Fish Master | 55 gallon tropical community. Mine has more hiding places than the jungles of South America. since they're such a shy fish, I figured he'd be happiest there. |

| | Fish Keeper | Cool fish BB.
I know they are in the same family of fish as the elephantnose and those types of fish.
I saw some at a distributors in the last year, I will go through all the stocklists I have from him for the past year or so when I have more time and get what scientific name he used.
One thing I noticed when I saw them there was he had a bunch in a tank together and they were all schooling together like barbs will do. Very interesting fish how they darted around but kept a tight grouping. I will get the name when I have more time.

Brian | Brian-Thanks! The scientific name would be awesome! I'd love to be able to research them. If they need to be in schools, I definitely want to provide that for him. |

I've had to do my daily checks on him at 5:30 in the morning before I turn on tank lights. I was afraid I'd only see him late at night and early in the morning. I think he just came out today because of the water change. I'd started giving up hope that I'd ever get a pic of him. |

| | Moderator | can you get more of him? they feel more comfy with some of their own...they do like to school and I spent allot of time with flashlights or even setting up a lamp near but not right on the tank might help ...wish I had room for some as this thread is awesome and reminds me how fun they were |

| | Fish Master | I think I can get more. I'm going to check and see. I think the woman only gets in a few at a time, so this may take a little time, but if it'll make Moby happy, then that's what I'll do. We all know how I hate getting more fish, especially when they're curious-looking critters like Moby . |
