My sister's fry are now big enough to see their adult colors so she is getting ready to sell them. She told me she would let me have some if I wanted, and since some of hers are shubunkin fry, I said YES! I will be trading out some of my larger orange
goldfish since I brought home 10 babies. All of these are from this years spawn and the container they are in (that I used for transportation purposes only) is just over 6 inches wide and 7 - 8 inches tall (so you can figure how big the fishies are). The two biggest ones are from the first batch of eggs, and the smaller ones are from the tail end of the spawn. I think she had about 4-5 batches of eggs this summer. I am pretty excited to watch these guys grow and see how their colors do. The ones that are orange and black should keep most of the black coloring since it is on a blue base which is how the shubunkin coloring is. It is hard to tell unless you look at them up close in the sun (which I did), but it looks like all the smaller ones will keep the shubunkin colors. The two larger ones may be shubunkin goldie crosses. They have mostly orange and white markings, but they also have a couple of dark spots/streaks that look blue/black in the sun. The pics aren't the best, but I didn't want to stress them anymore the day I brought them home. I wanted to get them in the pond so they could settle in before nighttime.
So, here are a couple pics:
