My fishys!

Hey, I just wanted to post some pics of my fish.

I have a five gallon tank, and I have a few mollies, and some other fish. I already know that I have a little too much fish. But they won't all live forever, and I'm not buying anymore until some die out.

My two female Bettas.

If you look closely, you can see my red male betta in the background.

Welcome to FishLore

Are the three bettas and mollies in the same tank?
Please read our Betta Care Guide
The Bettas really should be separated and out in tanks of their own.
Unfortunatly, if you don't, you're right, they won't live long.

Notice the fin clamping on the mollies?
Classic sign of ammonia poisoning.
I really disagree with reasoning that "they will not live forever". Nothing does.
As a fish keeper, we must strive to keep the fish in an optimal enviornamant. Not sentence them to a sure and untimely death.

Hello Fishtastic and Welcome to Fish Lore. You have some beautiful fish there. Some great advice and suggestions above.

Here is a link to the nitrogen cycle that is crucial to fish keeping:
The Aquarium Nitrogen Cycle
Read it and if you have questions by all means don't hesitate to ask.

It does appear that the Molly has clamped fins which is not a good sign. Do you have a test kit? What is most recommended on this site is the API (liquid) Master Test Kit. This kit will test for everything mentioned in the Nitrogen Cycle link (ammonia, nitrites, nitrates and pH). Once we know your test readings a lot more advice can be given to help you.

Best of luck

What other kinds of fish do you have in your tank and do you have a heater?
Beautiful fish by the way and welcome!
