ya really nice tank. i was wondering how deep your substrate is, my bn pleco keeps nocking out some of my anubis spp. and also how you got all your java fern to look so healthy and hid the roots so well. ive got about 5 or so of them and the roots go everywhere!!! but i dont want to cut them off cus i always see little sprouts of leaves coming off them. any sujestions would be much appreciated.

thanks,

tom

My substract is 2 1/2''
I'm seriously thinking about going to all flourite or ADA soil

As for the anubias, you should use fishing wire and stick them to somethin so the roots get around the decorations and be stable.

Java fern, are in the ''holes'' of my drift woods, i use fishing wire too and you dont need to cut Those sprouts, I let them grow till they drop and I filled them at the same place as the mother plant till it's all filled in.

Key to having plants :
- GOOOD lighting (i use hydrocotyte to give shadow to my java fern and anubias) atm im at 2W /G and soon going to T5 H0
- Fertilizer, I use seachem liquid fertilized (flourish and flourish iron) 3 time a week
1/3 of the amount neccessary each time (so less algea grow)
- Co2, Right now i use DYI with yeast and sugar but this chemical reaction reject a lot of CO2 and CH3COOH (acide ACétate (allcool) ) and is not regular. So you may think of going for a Co2 kit (expensive but worth the price)
- Last but not least, Water change every week or 2 maximum. Trim your plants, some plants can be replanted.

Hope that helped

Anthony
