Very true what Ted says. If you doubt it, some of you who are into breeding fish take a pair that is your headache pair, ie they just won't spawn for you no matter what you do. Give that pair to a buddy, I guarentee when they take them home the difference in tank params will trigger a spawn very soon.
Also with what Ted says about the new fish spawning, it is along the same lines. New tank and water "shocks" the fish into a spawn. Most fish will spawn, if mature, some just need a push in the right direction.

all this information is superb!!!!

but, the OP is having issues with the cons that isnt normal.... and the tank isnt cycled and is so very new that it must be cycled to save these babies... heres his original thread 30 gallon long-need some fish where the tank is less than a few weeks old and he is relying on the LFS to tell him things are ok ....

oh

Well the store will for sure say your readings are right on, that way hopefully you go home with something new. I can't comment on test kits, sorry I don't have one.

Rule#1- don't trust 90% of LFS for info.

Have a buddy in the hobby you van get some filter media from to help things along??

ph is fine but are you using test strips? im asking because you dont have an ammonia reading and usually they dont have that on them....also, test your tap water to see if you have nitrates in the tap
