Jack Dempsey and Red-Tailed Shark

Finally got a good picture of George the Jack Dempsey! Can anyone give me an approximate age for him?

Also, got a picture of Cena the Red-Tailed Shark, but it's kinda fuzzy.

I'd say around 9 months. This is Cresswell who looked the same as George when I got him about 5 months ago. They grow fast!

My goodness, Cresswell is beautiful!

Do you feed him any live food and if you do, when did you start?

I've been contemplating breeding my livebearers to give George "homebred fry" because my research says they like live food.

He eats bloodworms, pellets, flake, earthworms and Guppies. Livebearers make great food, but they need a good diet themselves to ensure that they are full of nutrients for the Cichlids. He started on Guppies as soon as I got him, but only because I was feeding them to Brute, the Oscar who lives with him. When he was little he would grab a Guppy headfirst, then swim around for an hour or so trying to swallow it!

We have everything but the earthworms and guppies. The livebearers are part of other tanks, so they're fed high-quality foods as well.

Fabulous, he can help us keep our "fry in line".

Thank you
