Here is new look

Well I've been working gathering info here and there until today I manage to work on the tank and did most of it.
Here is the before and after pics. The one on the left is before the new aquascaping. You be the Judge.

The only thing I regret was a casualty. I was moving the water back to the tank using a piece of hose from my python and one of the Neon tetras got too close and got sucked sideways ans the suction against the hose was too much and he got cut next to the gill. i always put a piece of plastic net with a rubber band on it but my girls had me super angry at this point touching everything. So I took the short cut and I pay for it. I just died a few minutes ago. It was one of my big ones too.

The fish are been a little shy since there surroundings changed. Haha There are some baby Mollies that don't even reach the 1/2" yet and they are loving it. They are all over the tank picking at everything they see.

Substrate

Is Turface Athletics Pro League Red Is basically the stuff they put on baseball fields around the diamond plate mixed with the clay. Is cheaper than the Eco- Complete. I saw a comparison on a split tank one side with Eco-Complete and the other with this Stuff. After a month the side with this was growing fast. So I decided to give it a try. Is basically baked Red Clay. It needs to be rinse really good. It has silica in it to absorb moisture but it works good. I mixed with similar color rocks You only see a few but is like a mixture of 85/15. If you look at the substrate close enough you can see the real colors.

Hey is the first tank that I put together planning a lot. I always get way to impatient and do it too quick so I guess this time worth the waiting time.

Few months later

So here is a few months later. Now it has become the primary tank to grow plants. The first is the before the second is today and few of the fishies and plants.

Looks great! I remember when I first started I went for black and red gravel.. but once I switched over to a more natural color it is amazing how much nicer the tank looks!

What do you have in the tank? :-) I see 2 dalmation mollies and 8ish neons?

There's only 5 neons, 3 mollies, 2 ottos and few MTS and tons of Mystery Snails.

Wow! A lot! I had ottos for a few years and when they died I replaced them with corys (just because I had never had them before...) but I have to say I really miss my ottos.
