Am I Grounded?

We were at the LFS today and we (the younger we) fell in love with someone, so we brought him home and he's in my 55 gallon tropical tank.

I know, I have to keep a REALLY CLOSE EYE on my water parameters because of this, but there's lots of extra filtration in the house right now

He's a spotted, so he'll get kinda big, but not as big as the common

Looks like a sailfin gibbiceps to me... hope I'm wrong, as they can grow to 18 inches! Wow!

It's a very pretty fish though!

55 is only 13" wide... they can turn around, but I wouldn't say they could do so easily. Let me just say, I'm not great with pleco ID's and I may very well be wrong. Have you checked out www.planetcatfish.com for more info?

Of course you're grounded, but by the time it's starting to get too big, you'll have a 155gallon tank in place

My two sailfin's did ok in the 40 gallon breeder tank over the winter. They weren't too happy about the smaller space, and they were very happy to go back in the 180 gallon pond, but they survived. I think they may actually have even grown a bit while they were inside...
