My baby "girl"

Hermione was rescued a couple of weeks ago from LFS. She is waiting to check into her new 55g home.

Congrats on your new addition Kim
Yep.. these blood red Parrots have as much of a personality as our betta's do. Especially when they are giving us those sad eyes and pouts through the glass tanks. awww.... little Hermione is a cutie pie.

She is adorable! Is she eating a worm in the pic that is in your profile? Just curious. I know you must be excited to be putting her into a larger home. Keep us posted.

Yes that is a worm! It is her "Sunday dinner treat" I hope it is o.k to give her! I wash them really well with some scooped out tank water. I then give her very small feeding on Monday. She loves live food. Unfortunatly for blood worms etc. I can only get freeze dried (no frozen).

I think it should be fine Kim. Probably better than canned food. Too, since it's a special treat even better. Make sure she eats it. If she doesn't for some reason be sure to net the worm out so it doesn't decay in your substrate.

Hi Kim
may I suggest cutting up the worm for her.. that looks pretty long and with the BRs deformity of their mouth, they have to suck in their food like a vacuum. I would hate to think that your new little one may choke on that size worm.

I do watch her really carefully. She sometimes takes a bite, then releases what is left and recaptures it. It sort of lengthens as she sucks it in. I do try to find the shortest ones! I have cut them up also, so far so good.
