| | Moderator | holy cow im still shocked LOL
I had to give my loving oscars away as I couldnt upgrade I miss them muchly!! I just read your info again and wowsers again hahaah...the oscars alone need 200 gals..and the bala's will need that also....your water changes must be crazy!!!!!! I had to do every other day 50% changes on my 75 gal with just the 2 oscars to keep it clean and no cloudyness....how do you keep yours maintained with twice as much in a smaller tank? |

| | Fish Bum | lots of filters but i still get a slight brown clowdyness but i think its mostly the green wall behind my tank that makes it look clowdy and i normali do monthly 75% water changes ill put more pics of more of the fish up =p |

| | Moderator | amazed still!! some great looking fish ...but i can see from the pics that your angel, and your plec have some fin damage which is likely from the overstocked..and your oscar has the scrapes along his body from probably the rocks or something sharp in the tank...the bigger those oscars get, the more they do somersaults and floudnering around and will get hurt....I think you have been lucky to have them this long in a 55 gal without issues...im shocked for sure ..have you had all those fish for a year in there? my jaw is still dropped LOL |

| | Fish Master | They are pretty fish.
The pH you have in your info (6.0) is too low for the africans to thrive. They are a high ph/hard water fish and should be kept in a tank to themselves. The also require a different diet (a diet of low protien mostly veggie foods). |

Thats how I ended up with 10 tanks, and still getting more. You can get different biotopes with each tank and go crazy with it... a lot of fun. Also you can find good deals on craigslist, classifieds, etc and not pay the full LFS cost for the tanks. |
