the parrots are getting along great with the oscars...so far so that the only times i have ever seen any confrontation that has been literally a gang up of the BR parrots on an OSCAR ...they dont touch just guide the oscar way back

Glad to hear they're doing well and getting along. Bloody Parrots are my favorite (if you haven't noticed) It's so cool watching them gently push another fish out of the way.

They truly stick together as a species and look out for one another. When I lost an elderly silver dollar last week (float bag burst and was 8 years old) they even tried to help him stay upright when he went to fall over. I was amazed.

thats cute and sad at the same time!
I am planning on getting silver dollars myself and taking out the iridecent shark since ive noticed that the parrots are not allowing the iridecent shark to roam around the tank...whenever it comes out the parrots make sure it goes back to the left corner of the tank...

they just dont give up till its in that particualr corner...once there they just move away...

i am truly amazed..why didnt i have them before is really astonishing

Bloody Parrots love to hide (in places like terracotta pots, too these pots are good bacteria collectors since they are porous). My 2 Bloody Parrots (BR's) in the 26g tank love their terracotta urn. I have to Albino Cory's in there with them. The BR's do not allow the Cory's to enter the urn. lol other than that they all do well. (pics in my profile)

hey guys!
im in a bit of bother!

two of my BR parrots have gone COoooKOooo! they chase everything off and are getting quite aggressive...the only two oscars are left alone..everything else is shuned away...in the beginning it was cute but now they literally snap at everything when they come close to their hiding spot...unlucky for me its right in the middle of the tank...

my iridecent shark has been in there for about a week and not allowed to swim about or eat even once...im going to take it back today.

number 1:
now my plan is to go and get two clay pots today and put them at the very ends of the tank so that even if a pair or one inhabits the area...still the middle would be available to others for swimming...

number 2:
im going to return the iridecent shark and get myself 4~6 silver dollars today..

sounds ok?!

The BR parrots will love the terracotta pots. A good idea to put them on each end of your tank since you're having aggression problems. Make sure your new pots are not painted or sealed/glazed in any way. They are porous and a great bio collector for your tank. Too, they will bubble for a while once you put the pots in. They will protect their favorite spots, but too as they age a lot of the aggression will fade until mating time. Silver Dollars will be a GREAT addition. (my silver $'s and Br's get along so well).
As for mating time: Even though the males are sterile they still go through the ritual just like any other fish.
