my albino bristle nose

ive had this guy for a couple of weeks now, but ive just now been able to get some photos. hes an long finned albino bristle nose. i dont have any action shots of him because he moves to fast, but he looks ghost-like with those long flowing fins.

hope you enjoy!

i love this guy, i wish he was more active during the day time tho. i think that may partially be that my common pleco bullies him a little bit, but in a few days the common with have a new home and the BN will have reign over the tank.

i should also give honorable mention to the Endlers and the Cory cats that kept sneaking into the pictures, the BN has a algae disc in his mouth and they wanted it! lol

i have 4, i got them probably 3 weeks ago. i think i need to add a couple more to the tank, they dont seem to school together. hopefully a larger number will get them schooling.

Awesome longfin abnp. Nice bristles on him. My adult male longfin abnp doesn't have that much bristles and he's full grown. In fact when I first got him, I thought he was a SHE.

Where did you get him? If from a LFS, must have cost a fortune.

i actually bought him from a local aquatic club member. she told me she would take $12 for him, well when i got there she hooked me up with a bag full of Endlers, probably 20-30 of them, so i gave her all the cash i had $14!

how much do you suppose i store would have charged?

do you have any pics of your BNs?

Oh you are so lucky! $12 is not even a price for our baby bns in our lfs here. I know in the US is always cheaper than in Canada. I paid mine from my lfs $89.99 each (that was their price tag) about a year ago and not even full grown. Lucky me, I got 2 and they paired up.

Here's a pix of the male & female I got. First pix is the original pair and the staff thought it's a male/female but ended up both males and the one with longer bristles died after 48 hours. The one with shorter bristles is also a male and that's what I got now and still short bristles.

Second pix is of the male that died. Luckily he gave me a replacement with no bristles and they paired up while still in their QT tank.

Third and Fourth pix is my female.

You definately got a great deal for him and the endlers! My LFS sells Longfin Albino BN's for 19.99 when they are babies! The adults can be 90 a pair! The endlers are 5 bucks for a pair!

my LF albino BN is cute, but I think it is a female. She does not have any bristles yet, but she is still young. I love that fish, and I def. second the nomination for fish of the month!

i wish your pic was a little bigger, he/she looks very cool! do you have more pics you could post? id love to see more of her.

the lady i got mine from just had some new albino bn babies, i think she said they were 2 weeks old. her male was sitting in a PVC pipe guarding them, it was pretty cool to see. sometime i will pick up a female LF and have myself some babies.

If you click on the pics, the gallery will open up, and you can see them better! Don't know how to make it into a thumbnail!

the way i post my pics is by uploading them to photobucket, then posting that pictures link into the IMG button.

does your digital camera have a manual focus? thats the only thing i can figure out on my camera haha, it does an ok job

Thank you,I think I got it! You don't know how long I've been trying to figure that out. My camera is auto everything, and it takes great pics....except for my fish! I do not know why it does that! I wonder if I need a different camera?
