Just thought I'd post some photos of my tank with new plants and driftwood.

I hope my uncle is still giving me his hexagon tank! I like the way they look!

LOVE IT!!!! im still on the hunt for a tank like this ..the only thing I would think about changing is the gourami ...they are labyrinth fish and need more of a long not tall tank as they breath from the top...so maybe move him in the 55 gal when its completed?

Amazing tank!
I love the rock pile and how colourful your fish are...
An angel would be a great addition, they love the hexagon tanks. But you'd have to be careful with the CAE.
Well done!

Thanks everyone for all the positive feedback. My husband and I had a good time this week end adding the plants and shopping for driftwood.

I am going to get rid of my CAE... he is a really cool fish, but he attacks my gourami and I'm afraid it is only going to get worse once he gets a little bigger. I am offering him on freecycle to a good home with more suitable tank mates.

Interesting idea about the angle... I'll have to think about that one. I feel like the tank is pretty maxed out as far as stocking goes.... and I will want to replace the CAE with a smaller less aggressive algea eater. Any suggestions?

Well I said good bye to "I'mgoingtogetyousucker" fish (that was the CAE's name) last night. He found a good home in a 110 gallon tank full of cichlids... I hope he has a good long life there....

I am going shopping for a new algae eating fish this weekend... I will look at the bristlenoses... thanks for the recommendation.

Well I looked around for Bristlenoses and they didn't have any... the gal at the pet store suggested a rubber lipped plecostomus or a small group of otos. I went with the otos. . She thought that a small group of otos would probably do a better job and produce less waste than a full grown rubber lipped pleco. Cute little guys (I got 3) and they have already put a big dent in the algae

you'll need to constantly have algae too. I've found theses guys very hard to feed, though I understand they do take blanched lettuce and cucumber very well.
