41G tank, need some creative input.

ok. so here's my 41G osaka bent front tank. 2 of my 5 awesome pieces of driftwood from craigslist.

it's still cycling so excuse the cloudy water. got about 1.17 WPG in lighting.

gonna try and plant some live stuff in there. pool filter sand substrate.

i'm looking for plant ideas or fish ideas or....whatever you wanna comment on.

Well, 1.17 wpg isn't that much to work with so you should stick to low and maybe some medium light plants. Also consider that your tank is pretty deep so the diffused light might not be as powerful towards the bottom. I always try to put little plants in front and the tall ones towards the back. I really like your driftwood as it contains many sleek pathways and caves. You could attach some low light moss to the wood if you want. You should try to mix in some Eco-Complete or flourite if you are willing to try some more delicate plants.

For the fish I would surely recommend angelfish for any tank more than 29 gallons plus they enjoy taller tanks like yours. They are so fun to watch and play with and so graceful as they travel. A school of small rainbowfish would complement the angels beauty. Khuli loaches are great little bottom feeders that would enjoy the many pathways that your logs offer. They would also stir the soil a bit so gas pockets don't form. Corys also would be pleasant as they as wild little buggers that would zoom around the logs while keeping the uneaten food to a minimum. And no tank is complete without an infestation of ghost shrimp. Just my thoughts. I'll be back later to see what else you're looking for.
