Before-'n-After

I thought that my 29g was boring, so I decided to remodel it to resemble a natural riverbed. (I love that look, so if you don't like it, don't read any of my posts towards the end of this month, which is when I'll be getting puffers for my 10g!)

What do you think? In the "before" my light worked, but now the bulb is out, so it's not as well lit, but I like the appearance better!

Catfishlover: The bag was a bag of gravel from the 10g that I moved the fish from. I wanted to get some bacteria going.

Shawnie: I liked the driftwood too, but it was turning my water brown, so before I changed it to the riverbed theme I had replaced it with a piece of fake driftwood.

I like the remodeling. Have you though of adding a back ground?

@ Lucy: Yes, I hve, but actually I think it looks more open without a background. I had one in my 10g before I moved my fishies to the 29g, and I thought it made it look... I don't know, more "close" than without a background.

I like them because to me, they add dimension and hide some of the wires and filter box.
Have you considered a solid colored back ground? It gives it a different effect than the 'scene' backgrounds.
I use colored poster board on a couple of mine. Since tank is against a white wall consider white poster board. Should give you the effect you like but will hide wires and such.
Cheap and easy to change out.
