| are you using co2 or ferts? |

| I'm using no co2 or ferts. My substrate is a gravel/eco-complete mix. The only filtration I'm using is a aquaclear 50 power head with a quick attach filter; filled with phosphate remover and bio rocks. The plants utilize the co2 produced by the fish and the fish use the oxygen produced by the plants. Its a basic system that has to maintain perfect balance of fish and plants. The gasses produced by both fish and plants do not leave the aquarium into the atmosphere due to a film that forms on the surface because of minimal surface movement; this way as much of it can be utilized by fish/plants as possible. I've had the tank set up like this for a week and a half now with great results.
I will eventually switch over to co2 set up with a canister filter and UV sterillizer but that must wait... |

| Love the tank, it's similar to my 75 gal. A fully planted tank is like having "a hobby within a hobby". And the felling of accomplishment it undiscribable as you watch it grow and fill out. I keep telling myself it can't get any better than this... until I see an older picture and realize, IT CAN! (...kinda like having kids) |

| Beautiful tank!
What are the WPG?If you upgrade to CO2,you need to make sure you have enough lighting for it,and you will need to start adding ferts. What is your reason for wanting a UV Sterilizer? |

| Looks really good! You have some nice healthy looking plants there. I agree with dvc_r planted tanks are like a hobby within a hobby. There have been a few times I've had to remind myself not to get obsessed with the plants and forget the fish (just kidding) and if your slack off on pruning you don't see the fish much anyway lol |

| The plants are as follows - amazon sword, jungle vals, italian vals, corkscrew vals, anacharis, foxtails, marble queens, kleiner bar sword, rubin sword, micro swords, anubias nana.
And yes, that light was a pretty penny |

| Beautiful aquascaping! I like the combination you have.
If you need additional CO2 consider dosing with Seachem's Flourish Excel or go with a DIY CO2 (I have a DIY system in a 45gal planted and works well).
