Here is my set up for now. Im trying to get rid of these so I can switch to salt water. I started out with 12. They had one for dinner about a month after I bought them. I traded 4 of them to a store. They were getting crowded and angry towards each other. I probably should get rid of 2 more soon. For the most part they get along great.

I was thinking about piranhas...How entertaining are they? During feeding time?

They are pretty fun to watch eat. I usually keep gold fish in there at all times. They are about 4.5" long and will eat 100 gold fish in about 3-4 days. When I put raw chicken in there they just swarm it till its gone. They eat a half a chicken breast in about 30 seconds. So to answer your question they are very entertaining to watch eat. The only flaw about piranha is they are very skidish. The younger they are the worse it is. It gets better the older they get.

Wow, cool tank Pirhanas are illegal in my state as well. How in the world do you put your hands in the tank to do maininance?

now I really miss the one's I had.


MissMts if they are anthing like the ones I had abou ten years ago you put your hand in very slowly and move slowly. And hope nothing makes a sudden move. the only time I had any problems with them coming after me someone scared them while I was fixing some plants.
