New babies!

As some of you know, I sold my African cichlids today. They were too aggressive, and I'm switching to a SA community.
Sooo....I came out of my LFS with a beautiful black angel, and am getting my RTS there on Tuesday.
I then went to petsmart *smacks forehead*
There I bought 2 more angels: 1 black/white veiltail marbel, and 1 pure white veiltail . I also got 2 dwarf gouramis, and 2 young parrots.
The saleslady actually told me that this set-up isn't going to work - so I guess they kind of care about the fish.
Everything is going fine, except for the angels from petsmart. The white is just hanging out at the bottom, but the marble is sitting at the top of the water in a corner. That makes me nervous.
Although it could be that the woman bagged ALL the fish together! I couldn't believe it!
The parrots are punks, one is really laid back, the other is a bully.
The gouramis are each missing a barbel, but I'm sure they will grow back. I'm uploading pics as I type. So they are coming!

Hi Amanda
Congrats on all your new babies today! Your angels are beautiful, especially the white one, wow, that is a gorgeous angelfish. Your Parrots look like the ones I got today and I even think, judging by the photo which can be hard to do, yours look like they are a teeny bit bigger than mine. At least one of your Parrots looks like it is.
Why did the lady at the LFS tell you that it wouldnt work out? Only thing I am wondering is if the the angels are too small and the parrots may bother them that young? Or is it the gouramis?
I can see the parrots like the pot already haha.. they just love to hide in the pots.
great photos... I will have to post some photos in my Parrot thread too. But was only able to get one of the parrots in a good photo. If you check it out ( i'll upload it in a few minutes) you will see how much ours look alike.
Best of luck with your new ones...

Thanks!
The lady said that "the cichlids won't get along with the angels" <---and that is a direct quote. I just looked at her & shook my head.
lol.

Thanks Lucy.
I just hope that the marbled angel is alright. I guess I'll see when I wake up tomorrow morning.

lololol.
I know!
That was what I thinking, I couldn't believe that she said that.
I felt like asking her if she knew that angels ARE cichlids.

... duh... Angels are cichlids!.... No wonder you just shook your head at her. jeesh...
I had my 2 yr old angel fish in with the Parrots for two months and no one bothered each other. I would be a bit concerned at how small your angels are tho, and I do hope that the parrots wont bother them. But your parrots are also small babies.. I hope that your Marble will do better, maybe he/she needs more time to acclimate to its new surroundings. Keeping my fingers crossed for you as well.

Thanks Kate.
The marble & the white are smaller than the pure black one.
Got them at 2 different places, but there's not that big of a difference.
The parrots seem more interested in eachother & chasing the gouramis.
Although they'll chase them, the gourami will stop short, and the parrot runs into him.
Whenever the parrots chase someone, they just catch up and kinda "bump" the other fish. At least they aren't biting.

I lost the marble angel last night.
WhenI got up he was laying inside the hurricane glass, on his side.
All the rest are doing fine, I don't know what could have triggered this.
Petsmart has a 14 day garuntee, so I can go exchanage for another one.
Maybe it was the fish? Maybe it was injured on the way home?

The white angel is simply BEAUTIFUL! I'm sorry you lost the marble...This sometimes happens when you transfer a delicate fish.....

Sorry to hear you lost the marble Amanda. I agree with Karen, Angels are so sensitive anyway, its not uncommon to loose one out of a group after you bring them home.

My mom is going to pick up another one tomorrow after she gets off work.
She HATES my fish, so I'm trying to get her more involved by letting her pick out the next angel.

ooooo thats a great plan Amanda! She will feel that its her responsibility to find a good and pretty one for you. Now she has no other choice but to become involved with your hobby, plus she will know that it was her pick of the Angel that comes home. It should and hopefully make her feel good about it all.

I hope so.
She really hates me fish.
Except for my one betta, Val. She babies that fish.

Does she hate the fish or hates the time you spend on them?
