cool, sounds like a very diverse community, I like that I think its cool but it gets kinda boring when you have a species only tank. nice stocking it!

Lucky

Lucky is the first ever guppy that was born in my tank. All of her brother and sisters were eaten at birth. She has escaped death many times, hence the name "Lucky"!

Really cute guppy!

Wow, that's a lot of fish for a 29g. Do you realize how overstocked you are? I came up with like 52" of fish.

How are you maintaining the water?

Thanks! My water quality is wonderful... overstocking isn't a problem for me. My ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate are generally zero. (Nitrate because of the use of Nitraban tri-weekly or less.) My fish are healthy and very, very rarely get sick.

There you go, proving that the one inch of fish per gallon rule is ridiculous.

sometimes that rule is the stupidest thing you can go by to stock a tank!

not everyone gets to have parims good with that kind of overstocking...so dont think for one second that the rule is stupid...its a beginning rule of thumb but not written in stone...and most fish will survive overstocking but wont thrive...new fish keepers shouldnt ever overstock as it would only be asking for trouble...extra filtration and good water changes can keep a tank healthy but it doesnt mean the rule is something that should be ignored by anyone....

It's not even that good for beginers unless you tell them that the rule only applys to small fish under 2". When I first started fishkeeping and heard this rule I went to Wal-mart and almost bought 2 pictus catfish for my 10 gallon tank. Why? because they only get to 5" each, so 2 would be perfect for a 10 gallon tank... thats what I thought. If you tell someone the rule then you should specify that the rule is only for small fish. I'm not saying its stupid, there is just so many more factors to tie into it.

PS. sorry for hi-jacked thread.
