ikevi's photos

I am just going to make a thread. Depending on how ambitious I get I may add some more today.

My goal with photos is to try to keep things as close to how I see my fish. So that might mean doing a little photoshop to get hues right. My camera tends to overdo the red so I try to cut it down to real life. I don't usually like flash unthoughtful it can make some fish look amazing. The reason being you don't see them like that. (IE red empress, someday I will show with and without flash it is crazy how different the fish look.) If you see ikevi on it it means I did something to it. If you don't it means that is what my camera gave me. (I tend only to play with brightness, and contrast and maybe a little color if I am feeling ambitious. I very rarely cut out dirt, but sometimes I feel I have too.) My pictures are all designed to look the best on my dell ultrasharp monitor, so brightness levels and such will be different for everyone. Anyways enjoy, and over time I will add some good ones.

My 240 discus tank with no flash involved.

Some in my new 400:

Top 3 are discus. (I have ~18 of them, the first two are albinos, and then there is a blue diamond.)

Then I have trimacs, Os, citrinellus and a half of a Vieja of some sort.

Cool shots. Cool albino discus.

I have some shots of an Empress with and without flash, you're right on their look. Though i find they look great either way hehe.

Yep, no disagreement either. Heck I take them with and without flash, I just figure when showing fish to people that don't know them one should try to be as true to what you see. (Though my desktop is this... don't ask me how many people have asked me what type of fish these are. They are my discus but obviously I photoshoped it.)

Though even the red empress after they get older you don't need the flash. (Just when they are young, they tend to look a ton better with flash.)
Flash:

No flash when older: (They actually show more different colors this way, IMO, just maybe not as striking as you see say here: http://www.cichlid-forum.com/profile...es.php?id=1369 first picture is flash)

No flash when younger: (these are also taken on my camera phone...)
