Another Tank

Hi Everybody

Thought I'd show you all how my fish keeping is coming on, just started up my 3rd tank. Here's whats going on.

Tank 1
This is a Clearseal B-Shaped tank, approximately 180 Litres, i'm using a Fluval 205 cannister filter with Biomax, Charcoal, Ammonia Control and sponge filter media, and a 100w heater.

The tank is planted with live potted plants, varying from wide to narrow leaves.

The fish in the tank are 5 mature mollies, 4 juvanile mollies, 2 male tuxedo swordtails, 2 clown loaches, 1 albino Plec, 1 Normal Plec, 1 rescued black tetra and an unknown quantity of molly fry.

Tank 2
This is a Baby Biorb, 15 Litres, using the bulk standard filter system, containing sponge and charcoal, and is just an air powered type, there is also ceramic media beneath the gravel for bacteria to breed on.

I have not planted the tank due to the size, but instaed have a living offcut from the oxygen plant from tank 1 floating in there.

There is only 1 fish in the tank, a red male Betta, he used to live in tank 1, but I moved him out to be alone as he looked unhappy, but still he's unhappy, so he's going into Tank 3 when it's finished cycling, and Tank 2 will probably house a small school of Tetra.

Tank 3
This is my latest tank, it's a Juwel 70, 70 litre, running the standard foam media filter that is built into the tank, plus I've added an ammonia control bag and active charcoal. I have a ceramic ornament in there to help the bacteria. It also has a 100w heater.

It's not yet planted, but I plan to use potted plants again, due to the success of Tank 1, and has yet to have a backround added, as the tank is currently in it's first week of cycling.

When cycled, and the water is to a high standard, I'm putting my male Betta in there, along with the normal Plec from Tank 1, for algae control, and will hopefully put a pair of female betta in there, not really looking to breed, just looking for compatability.

Hopefully when all 3 are fully operational, I'm going to upgrade Tank 1 to a 380 Litre corner tank, so no worries about the impending size of the clowns or the plecs.

Thanks for having a look, and any comments are really welcome.

Trev

Just thought I'd add some more pictures, just finished cycling tank 3, so I've re-homed my male Betta (Bertie), and he looks much happier, he's got his own little hiding place too, in the pot.

be very careful putting male and female bettas together...both sexes will terrorize the other sometimes to death...it really isnt a good idea, and all betta owners on this forum will agree with me
bettas do best by themselves, but some will do ok with a couple of bottom feeders or algae eaters...
