Pre Discus 55gal (Malawi)

Well i caught some flak for having discus in a bare tank , just wanted to show what i had before the discus. I have to say its one of my best aquascaping jobs, but it became very boring...hence the move to discus. Might try it again in the near future.

While my discus tank is NOT a show tank, this one was. It housed mostly Mbuna, Msobo variety and a couple peacocks/various africans. Hope you enjoy this more then the last one.

it was my lack of knowledge on breeding and growing out discus that my comment was about..this tank rocks..I guess us newbies are use to the aquascaped tanks more than the breeder/grow out versions

are we forgiven ?

Of course, i never hold grudges. I guess thats what i get for emersing myself in pure discus breeder/keeper boards for the past year or so. It definitely is a change from those that just want to keep and those that want to breed. In the back of my mind i still have hopes for a nice planted tank, but not ready quite yet. I'm even considering putting my 40gal reef tank on hold to do more FW!

Thanks for the comments.

It's a beautiful tank! The yellow Cichlids right? They suit the background and makes the tank more beautiful! Awesome job man!

That's kind of what I'd like to setup for some Labidochromis sp. Hongi that we just picked up. Great job!

Thanks. Only problem was all the mess that got trapped in the rockwork.

Hmm.. yea, I want to balance their rocky environment with the 'clean-ability' of the tank. They're 1 month, 2 at the most old now, so I've got a little time to setup their tank.
