Discus Pics requested by Dino

Here ya go Dino! Their doing great!

Blue Diamond. Nice yellow hue tail and a purple hue face.

Cobalts (My favorites) A very nice classic

Marlboro Red - Hans tried to pick me the cleanest 3"er in the tank. I'd say he did a good job!

I know this is probably a stupid question but.....Why do all the photos of this type of fish have them being held by a hand? Is it to show their size?

It is that to a degree.
Small differences in size can mean a lot of difference in price.

And, no, that is not a stupid question.

The main seller at the show was marking many of the fish by the 1/2 inch with 20-30$ differences in the price.

They are great fish, just a little bit needy in their requirements.

Thanks everyone. Yes i got them at the ACAs on Saturday/Sunday. 8 of them total.

Holding them by hand is to show size, and just to get pictures before they go in the tank haha, they were just done aclimating so i was in the process of putting them in. I have a feeling this tank might turn green eventually (With good plants not algae ) but for the time being to grow them up big, i'm sticking to BB.

Needy, eh. To a degree i guess, maybe i don't notice it because i keep SW too. Just some extra TLC then your average tetras i'd say. It seems their needyness disappears with age, younger discus are much tougher to take care of and grow up right then an adult discus that is already at its peak growth.
