Take many, many, many pictures and you will get a few that satisfy. Thats the best advice I can give you.
Most of the time I take pictures with the room lights off and the tank lights on. also if using a flash angle the camera just a bit and it won't reflect off the back of the aquarium.
I remember those flashcubes also and you're right sometimes they didn't ork

I use a Dinosaur of a camera right now. It uses Floppy disc and then I just pull the floppy out and put it in the computer and look at them, then delete what I don't like. i really want a good digital but it's not gonna happen right now
